Big Theys / Big Thems.

Through this program, young individuals will have the opportunity to connect with an LGBTQIA+ mentor, who will help them develop the necessary social and emotional skills to thrive as healthy and well-supported community members.


Big Theys/Big Thems is supported by a council of affirming mental health professionals and LGBTQIA+ community leaders to ensure a welcoming and nurturing environment for all LGBTQIA+ youth.

Mentorship Program for LGBTQIA+ Youth

This program is open to LGBTQIA+ youth in Northwest Arkansas between the ages of 12 and 18. 


Virtual or In-person opportunities.


All Big Theys/Big Thems Mentors must be at least 21 years old, reside in Northwest Arkansas, 


Each Mentor will have 2 - 3 LGBTQIA+ Youth ages 12-18 in their mentoring small group, with 2 curriculum sessions and 2 curriculum follow-up sessions each month.


Curriculum sessions will be guided by The Equality Crew's social work and mental health partners, with Mentors present to support Mentees.


Big Theys/Big Thems Mentors will also have monthly meetings with the Program Director and Big Theys/Big Thems Advisory Council to check in and review the previous month's programming to ensure they receive the necessary support as Mentors to serve Mentees best. 

Weekly meetings every Friday from 6:30-7:30 pm.

You'll be paired with an LGBTQIA+ mentor from the NW Arkansas Community, along with no more than two other mentees in your group.


**Mentors must commit to attending at least bi-weekly meetings from 6:30-7:30 pm.
