Why Inclusive Prom?

It is important for LGBTQIA+ youth to have their own inclusive prom because it provides a welcoming environment where they can be themselves without fear of discrimination or persecution.

Historically, proms have often centered around heteronormative ideals and may not be inclusive of all gender identities and sexual orientations.

Having a prom specifically for LGBTQIA+ youth allows them to celebrate their identities and connect with others who share similar experiences.

It can also be empowering to have a space created specifically for them, where they are celebrated.

All youth deserve to feel seen, heard, and valued, and an inclusive prom is an important step towards creating a more equitable and accepting society.

Stardust Prom

When dressing for a Stardust Prom, you may consider incorporating celestial and sparkly elements into your outfit.

Here are some ideas to get you started:

Starry dresses: A dress with starry prints or embellishments can be a great choice for a Stardust Prom.

Metallic accessories: Metallic accessories like silver shoes or a clutch can add some extra sparkle to your outfit. You could also try incorporating metallic jewelry like statement necklaces or earrings.

Glitter makeup: Glitter makeup can be a fun and playful way to add some extra sparkle to your look. You could try a glittery eyeshadow or some sparkly lip gloss.

Bold Suits: A colorful velvet or satin suit in shades like deep purple, emerald green, or electric blue. Pair your suit with a ruffled or printed button-up shirt for a retro feel. You could also wear a wide-brimmed hat or a fedora to complete the look.

Have fun with it: A colorful, patterned jumpsuit with exaggerated shoulder pads and wide-legged pants, paired with metallic or glittery boots and a bright blue or pink wig.

Remember, the most important thing is to wear something that makes you feel confident and comfortable.

Don't be afraid to mix and match different styles and accessories to create a unique and personalized look for your Stardust Prom.
