J.A.C.K.

Just a Crew of Kids.

The Equality Crew’s teen council, J.A.C.K. (Just a Crew of Kids), is an exciting leadership opportunity for LGBTQIA+ teens and allies in 7th through 12th grades in NWA.

This unique group will help inform teen programming for The Equality Crew, allow them to build community with other LGBTQIA+ teens, and foster the skills and tools they need to be leaders in their community.

Joining the JACK teen council is a great opportunity to meet other queer youth in my area and build my own little community. I have met a lot of people and done a lot of volunteering during my time on the teen council and it has greatly improved my sense of belonging in the community.

The Equality Crew’s teen council

Members will have the opportunity to influence The Equality Crew's teen programming directly.

They will do this by collectively brainstorming ideas as a group and participating in think tank sessions about what youth their age would like to see in programming and community support.

Members will always work toward fostering an open and inclusive environment within a judgment-free zone.

Members can participate in fun, informal gatherings and build community with fellow LGBTQIA+ teens, allies, and other LGBTQIA+ community leaders and nonprofit organizations.

Members will receive priority selection to serve on The Equality Crew event planning committees (i.e., Inclusive Prom and Pride).

Members will have the option to represent The Equality Crew at events with some public speaking opportunities.

Biweekly on Wednesdays from 6:30 - 7:30 pm

Meetings will be held at the Program Center at the Center for Nonprofits. Members can join virtually or in-person.

Members will be required to attend monthly meetings. When major events like Inclusive Prom and Pride are approaching, participation in event planning committees may require additional bi-weekly meetings.
